Kim Austin brings 26 years of experience teaching and leading elementary and middle school students as well as adult learners at the division and university level. She has earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University and is pursuing her doctorate work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  Kim has a true calling for working with disadvantaged students. She currently serves as the principal of a Title 1school where she has garnered state attention for her 4th grade students ranking 8th in the state of Virginia for math. 


Kim coaches new principals, is nationally trained as a trainer for effective instruction, and is nationally recognized in the areas of leadership, rigor and high expectations.  Kim has been selected as Teacher of the year in two different school divisions and has been the recipient of Principal of the Year for Stafford County Public Schools as well as the Washington Post’s Distinguished Educational Leader Award.
